Indoor maps for public buildings

This is a repo containing indoor map from floor plans, mall directory signs, online interactive maps and more. It is used by TechTransThai Mapping Thailand campaign.

How it works

  • The indoor map is acquired from floor plans, mall directory signs, online interactive maps or other sources, and campaign participants will dewarp them using mobile apps such as CamScanner or Microsoft Lens.
  • Participants will add these indoor maps as floor plans in OsmInEdit and trace them so the rooms, elevators, stairs and visible features will be available on OpenStreetMap.
  • Participants will use iD editor to clean up the drawing, merge "very close" points and validate the map using indoor=
  • Optionally, participants and/or the general public could also contribute missing important information, such as opening hours, wheelchair accessibility, shop names, by a ground survey.
