# Indoor maps for public buildings

This is a repo containing indoor map from floor plans, mall directory signs, online interactive maps and more. It is used by [TechTransThai Mapping Thailand campaign](https://www.techtransthai.org/mappingthailand/).

## How it works

- The indoor map is acquired from floor plans, mall directory signs, online interactive maps or other sources, and campaign participants will dewarp them using mobile apps such as [CamScanner](https://www.camscanner.com) or [Microsoft Lens](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.microsoft.office.officelens).
- Participants will add these indoor maps as floor plans in OsmInEdit and trace them so the rooms, elevators, stairs and visible features will be available on OpenStreetMap.
- Participants will use [iD editor](https://www.openstreetmap.org/edit) to clean up the drawing, merge "very close" points and validate the map using [indoor=](https://indoorequal.org)
- Optionally, participants and/or the general public could also contribute missing important information, such as opening hours, wheelchair accessibility, shop names, by a ground survey.
